| There are 10 key stages for the
initiation and completion of a project:
Initial Consultation – stage 1
We will spend time understanding your business, commercial
goals and requirements. As part of this exercise we will discuss
your requirements at a high level to see what would be the
best fit model for your business. We offer various
resourcing models to suit your requirements

Scoping / High Level Requirements Gathering
– stage 2
Once we have identified your business goals and project mission
statements we will either use your existing scope or initiate
a scoping exercise to identify your high level deadlines and
deliverables. The scoping exercise will comprise a high level
scope of work, technical design document, business analysis
and process flow and the best fit development methodology
for the project. The scope of work will also allow us to provide
you with proposals for the costs of developing and delivering
your project.
Customer Acceptance – stage 3
Once you are satisfied with our proposals for your project,
a contract for our technical services is drawn up and signed
by yourselves and Fusionex. The payment terms of the contract
will depend on what development model you have opted for whether
time and materials, fixed price, dedicated resourcing or a
complete ODC (offshore development centre). Often this choice
is dependent upon the nature and size of your projects.
Project Planning – stage 4
Once your project has commenced we will implement a project
management structure based on the project size and type. This
exercise provides you with a comprehensive project plan clearly
outlining milestones and deliverables, release dates and deadlines.
This stage will also identify the required development team
size and structure based on project plan as well as
the duration and skill sets required. The start and end dates
are also published for resources rolling on and off the project
and at what stages in the lifecycle.
Project Logistics – stage 5
As the project gets underway we will set up metrics, controls
and procedures to ensure transparency, discipline, performance
and quality throughout the lifecycle. We will also identify
infrastructure requirements, onshore and offshore, connectivity
requirements in relation to communications and security (i.e.
back up’s, disaster recovery, timed code drops). Any
other requirements from you the customer (i.e. 3rd party tools,
release procedures), will also be specified and documented
Detailed Analysis & Specification – stage 6
The analysis stage is intensive comprising both business
and technical analysis to ensure that all requirements are
captured, documented and digested. Our process is a three
tiered approach firstly capturing business analysis, then
systems analysis and then producing an early prototype for
you. This approach provides you with some early visibility
of the intended look, feel and approach within the application
environment. This method provides sneak preview access and a sounding
board for users to trigger feedback and interaction. Often
we find this approach promotes a further check and review
process so that last minute functionality changes can be accommodated
before software development commences.
Development – stage 7
The software development stage will commence once we have a completed
functional specification and when technical use cases are approved
and signed off by you. We will work closely to the agreed
project plan and specified milestones and report any risks
on a weekly basis. All programming is conducted offshore in
our ODC centre in Malaysia where you can rest assured that
we will deliver an elegant, efficient, and maintainable
software solution. The onshore project manager co-ordinates
planning and development requirements with the ODC team to
provide you with a seamless delivery.
Testing & UAT – stage 8
We have a TQM (total quality management) system that provides
overall guidelines to meet your quality objectives. The rigorous
implementation of this system has guaranteed us successful
delivery of projects across the world. We also provide a framework
for testing during development and at each milestone of the project. Our
testing procedures include unit testing, system integration
testing, load testing and performance testing. User testing
(UAT) is also an important part of the software delivery process.
The critical success factors for system usability will be
identified and agreed upon with you as part of our testing procedures.
UAT will be conducted with our support and guidance and by
your own user group onsite once the beta version of your deliverable
is available.
Delivery – stage 9
The software release stage follows the development and testing
stages and includes all the operations to prepare your system
for use onsite. This will be a fully documented process including
installation scripts for full deployment of the system
We advocate and advise you on promoting a centralised installation policy, where one person or
department remains in charge of all software deployment.
In this way we can optimise installation standards and meet
with all your compliances on site. If you don’t have
installation expertise we can provide you with technical back-up during this phase.
Support – stage 10
Once your application is live you will require technical
and user support. We offer this as part of our delivery services.
We can even provide you with onsite support resources in the
initial rollout and go-live period and continue with fulltime
technical support moving forward. Our technical support contracts
are flexible and will be designed around your needs. Being
located offshore in the Far East, we have a distinct advantage
in being able to offer your onshore teams a 24/7 turnaround
on code fixes and enhancements as the time difference works
in our favour.
